boostr Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Nice mount C and G, maybe I'll mount a 3lbr when I ever catch one. The above 2 and a halfers seem to be mythical around here for me. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted October 30, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 30, 2014 Fantastic! Hope you can hang it up in your den or living room where everyone who visits will see it. Is the lure hanging out of its mouth? Nope, I still use that jig! Haha Ya there is a little paint messed up on the eye, and there is a rough spot on the edge of the gills and one on the tail also if you get close you can see a spot where the scales don't quite line up right. But overall I'm pleased and I like it. Quote
Lunker Addict Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 That is a really nice looking mount. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Not sure whats not right. Mouth position or too small of a mouth maybe? Eye too small or too far foward? No belly? What was the length. When I lived in Jersey I caught a 4.5# that swallowed a Rattle Trap and was bleeding bad. Was my PB so I had it skin mount made and was not thrilled with results. Expensive too. Of cours I ended up with a six pounder a few weeks later too. If I did it again I would take weight and measurments and get a glass mount. Better detail and cheaper. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/144524-my-quest-for-a-big-bass-is-over-pb-baby/ Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted October 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 31, 2014 It was a 20 inch bass weighing 5lbs. And If I catch another big bass 6lbs+ I won't be getting it mounted, even if I catch a 10lber I won't get it mounted. I might take measurements but if anything I'm gonna be getting a replica which wouldn't be likely ethier. Now if I catch a complete monster then I'll tell you right now I'll get a replica mount made for it! Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 31, 2014 Super User Posted October 31, 2014 Awesome! In all my years of fishing aint never mounted one Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted October 31, 2014 Super User Posted October 31, 2014 Thanks, and it was around 150$ - 175$ I had a 5# 8oz. Bass mounted and it cost me $32.00...., of course that was in 1982...lol. Hootie Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted October 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 31, 2014 Now I'm not 100% sure that's what it cost but that's what I think it cost, it was sorta a gift to me so Idk for sure what it cost. Quote
