Fisher-O-men Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Yep, Madison Bumgarner pitches soo very well, giants are getting it done old school! I love it! Says he just "gets lucky" this time of year. I've never seen a smoother pitching motion! If ever there was a natural, he is it! He also said he is ready to go should there be a game 7. Royals gotta hate that prospect! Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 30, 2014 Super User Posted October 30, 2014 Ok, they came and they went! Isn't it wonderful when your team prevails? Congrats. Now go to San Francisco, get naked, and parade around the streets in celebration. Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted October 30, 2014 Super User Posted October 30, 2014 Madison Is from a little town In NC. I watched him play on several occasions while In high school to legion ball. It's been a big thrill for most of the folks In the area and while no one at the time knew he would be this good there was always that something special about him. The one thing most folks don't know Is he can hit the baseball. I saw him crush a ball way over the centerfield fence during the state tournament , I believe It was his junior year, that the pitcher, and centerfielder never moved. They knew. Anyway, congrats. to the Giants and a toast to the series MVP! Quote

Congrats to the Giants even though i can't stand them and was pulling for the Royals lol I do like Sandoval though..... Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 30, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 30, 2014 What an amazing game. Could have gone either way. KC has nothing to feel bad about. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 31, 2014 Super User Posted October 31, 2014 Hard to believe a team can win the world series after being a mere 7 games over .500 and having a one man pitching rotation lol Kind of makes you wonder if the wild card is good for the game as the team that is hot at the end can win it all and the regular season, all 162 games, are not as meaningful. I think the wild card structure as it is now is great for the game. If a team can make the wild card, win the play-in game, and then beat the #1 seed in a best of 5 series they have nothing to apologize for in my opinion. Winning 100 or more games with nothing left at the end does not define a champion. SF and KC earned the right to play for the title. The Angels and Nationals may have had the best records, but the right teams were the ones standing at the end. Just my opinion... Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 31, 2014 Super User Posted October 31, 2014 I can't really argue with your points too much but i do wish that the division winners had a little more of an advantage other than home field in the first round. Maybe move it to a 7 game series or give them 4 out of 5 at home. The new structure with two wild cards is a little better in that the wild card teams generally have to burn their #1 starter though. Super User K_Mac Posted October 31, 2014 Super User Posted October 31, 2014 I agree that a 7 game series would give more advantage to the divisional winner. I am good with that. Quote
