PNWdude Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm going to try and focus more on top water baits.. frogs, poppers, spooks, wake baits, etc. I only caught one frog fish this year, but since getting a new fishing kayak I think I'll have more favorable opportunities to get it done and grow some confidence in those type of baits. It's tough to keep throwing something you don't have a lot of confidence and/or experience with. Quote
Bass NC Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm not going to try out any new baits this year but my New Years Resolution is to get out on the water more. At least once per week March through September. Quote

Super User Angry John Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 I plan on working at getting good at dropshot. The water here in WA is very clear and i have had limited success with the regular tactics. I plan on not using the regular robo worms as i did this at first and had no success. I got some smaller tubes from TW and did a lot better with no fish before shifting to this method. I just finished my first season here so i have learned a lot. One of the big dropshot lessons is limiting action. Move the bait and dont even shake the rod let alone bounce it. Less seems to be more for me and I plan on learning a lot more about this technique. DILLY07 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Cant believe 2014 season is over for me. But 2015 is brand new year! When I was fishing Fall State in Dubuque, Iowa. I did a lot of lipless crankin, and froggin and pitchin on day 1. Day 2, I was with a different boater. He did alot of tubes. So I secretly got my Zoom tubes and texas rig with 3/8 ounce tungsten bullet. I started slamming on smallies. It got me hooked with fishing tubes. So next year, Im gonna start fishing tubes. Fish slower. I feel like I fish to fast. Im gonna focus on maps and topos. Quote
Rhino68W Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I will be learning a lot more of everything. I have been a bank fisherman all year, but I am getting a fishing kayak early next year, so I will probably stick with working the shallows like I have been and getting smarter with that before I try any new stuff. Being ON the water instead of BY the water will open up tons of learning opportunities. Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted November 23, 2014 Super User Posted November 23, 2014 Doing some more jig fishing is big on the priorities for next year. I also want to get into craws a little more....I'm more of a worm guy. Quote
Ozark_Basser Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I change my routine almost every time I go out. I couldn't imagine not doing so. Quote
