Super User geo g Posted October 26, 2014 Super User Posted October 26, 2014 Holey Lands, Sunday 10/26/14, Sunny, wind 15 north, water temp 80*, water levels up from last week, water light stain, pump stations closed, some current west. Went out this morning with Steve Johnson. We got a late start, on the water at 8:00. Like last week Steve got a fast start and had a fish on the first cast. Soon we were both catching fish every few minutes. Lots of small bucks but lots of action. At a pump station I caught the big fish of the day, a 3.5 on a stick-o. After a few hours of action, we ran around trying to get into some bigger fish. We ran through the big lakes, and to the north canal. We went around the bend and out west past the pump stations. This was a bad move. It was like cherynobol ! The east canal was constant action, this canal was dead still. We called IT QUITS AT 2:00. We finished the day with a good 80 bass between the two of us. There were several chunks with the big fish 3.5 lbs. Weather was perfect, very few other boaters, and good company, and lots of action. It doesn't get any better then that! Quote

Backlash123 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Wow! Great report. I went out to the Little L (not sure if it's L67 A or C), but it was really slow. Ended up catching 4 fish with the biggest around 3 lbs, caught flipping a green pumpkin River Bug. May have to venture out to Holey Lands soon... Quote
Super User geo g Posted October 27, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 27, 2014 Little L is 67C, if your going to hit the HL do it soon, that place can change in a heart beat! Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 2 weeks in a row, sweet! I usually do good around the two bridges. Have you ever drove to the end of the levy, over the pump station and used the make shift ramp to the right? I think it would be considered the east side of big cypress. I I haven't been out there in a while but the bite seemed to be always on and usually your the only boat. I noticed they finally opened the new boat ramp on the alley (past the gas station) the last time I drove across it. You ever go there yet? Quote

MM51, I stopped there once to check it out, but never to fish it. The ramp is nice. It has two aluminum docks on either side of it. I haven't figured out how to head back East on the alley once I leave the ramp though. The exit allows for a safe Exit to the West, on the alley. Quote
Super User geo g Posted October 29, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 29, 2014 Lou you can make the turn around right where the exit hits the road. The turn around is dirt but not too bad. If you get caught in the middle I'm sure they will give you a ticket. In the canal you can go south, but going north puts you in Indian territory. Last time I went out there, there was window glass in the parking lot, and that lot is not visible from the road. Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Ya, that's the one Lou. I'm pretty sure it's not connected to the rest of the alley.canals that run east and west. Anytime I see glass at a boat ramp i cringe having to leave my vehicle. Quote
