pbizzle Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I fish use two set ups for my football jigs. For 3/8 to 1/2 ounce football jigs, I'll throw them on a 7' MH F with 12lb CXX. If I'm throwing a jig from 3/4 to 1 1/4 ounce, I'll use a 7'6" H F with 15lb CXX. Quote
Super User deep Posted October 21, 2014 Super User Posted October 21, 2014 12# Tatsu for upto 1/2 oz jigs- that's all I throw anyway. Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted October 21, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 21, 2014 I should have added I mainly stay with 1/2oz. football jigs and only use a baitcast combo for football jig work ... Looks to be an application where 12lb. to 15lb. FC is most popular ! Quote
benthinkin Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I also use 12-15 # FC typically I use 15# same Quote
dam0007 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 12# FC. It sinks! When I fish Footballs I'm making long casts and letting additional line out to get to the depths straight down. So as its sinking its not coming back to the boat, its going down at the point it lands from the cast. FC will help prevent the line bowing across the top of the water. I use AbrazX for these as well since I'm going to be in rocky or structure areas. Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted October 22, 2014 Super User Posted October 22, 2014 Another vote for straight fluoro, 16# TORAY Superhard Upgrade for FB jigs of 3/8-3/4 oz. -T9 Quote
