Super User Jig Man Posted April 10, 2007 Super User Posted April 10, 2007 i have a question i cant solve > when ever u heat the jig head to but the powder paint on its not nice and chiny i think im either imheating it to much or not fluffing it up enough PLEASE HELP THANKS :) I hope I understand the question. I assume that you mean that the jig head after being painted isn't nice and shiny. If that is what you mean then, yes, you don't have it hot enough. If, however, you are talking about the jig head before painting, it doesn't matter. Surely you are talking about fluffing up the powder. I shake the bottle a few times before I open it and it works most of the time. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Your jig head is not hot enough. Its just hot enough to have some pain stick. Consult the directions and it will walk you through developing a nice shiny tough finish. Quote
harshman Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Are you curing the jigs after you dip them by baking them in an oven ?? They will finish heating and give you a nice shinny finish if you didn't get them hot enough on the initial dip. I have had jigs that I have dipped where the paint barely melted when I dipped it and remained sort of powdery but once I cured them they looked like every other jig I did the right way.
