Weld's Largemouth Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Hey all! Got another almost-PB today! Weighed in at 5lb 13oz, measured 20.5 inches. Pulled her out of a submerged tree This is my favorite pond in New York to fish, its loaded with big bass and has a healthy population too. Caught a 6lb 1oz bass here during the summer, and have caught numerous 5 lbers. What amazes me is that the pond is 130 meters long, and 50 meters wide, yet it is OUTSTANDING. And its not a stocked pond, its natural. Video: Pics: 1 Quote

hookset on 3 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 First of all, Outstanding effort on catching that huge bass for the Northeastern part of the county. There's many a New York bass fisherman that have Never landed a largemouth that big. Secondly, from the sounds of it, you've got quite the Lunker pond there and you need to keep that to yourself or it will be crowded with others trying to catch all those 5 and 6 pounders. 1 Quote

guitarglynn1 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 beautiful fish bro and definitely the kind of catch worth having a vid of! The best bass fishing I have ever done was in a smaller pond than that 1 Quote

Carin for the fish sometimes means hush hush Clyde the glide would agree about the sharing is caring :-P But you're so right. At many of the spots I fish at, its rare to find any other guys fishing and releasing their catch. A place like that you would have a whole lot of guys sitting in lawn chairs with their worms and bobbers looking to catch dinner 7 days a week in the nice weather. 1 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted October 21, 2014 Super User Posted October 21, 2014 i thoroughly enjoyed the video commentary along with the catch!!! 1 Quote
