I like dobyn's rods.  They are really well balanced and look sharp too.  I just prefer st. croix for the taper they have that seems signature only to st. croix and g loomis.  A lot of people will say that dobyn's will have that same bend, but I've never owned a dobyn's that does.  They seem a bit too stiff for me.  This is in terms of an all around kind of rod.  When it comes to rods that are very technique specific like deep cranking or swimbait rods, I couldn't give you any insight because I've never owned those types of dobyn's rods.

I own 1 dobyns, a dx743 and it is my absolute favorite senko/light t rig rod.  They are balanced and in my hands one of the most sensitive rods I own.  My advice is to wait for the holiday sales.  There are a couple on the flea market too.

Its all personal preference for me I love them the 704cb is probably one of the best jerkbait rods I have ever seen . I also own a 734c heavy rod for flipping ,carolina rigs , mainly my go to jig rod . For me they are awesome but I also research them to death before I just randomly go out and pick a dobyns rod . Do your research and get the specific rod for you within the line up .

you can't go wrong with a Dobyns. great advice to buy on sale and buy the right rod for ur line up. i tried tons of rods and settled on 2 brands: Powell and Dobyns.  the Powells are just right there with sensitivity and quality but can be had for much cheaper used (about $125 vs $185 for Dobyns Champion). I just can't justify buying a DX. Although they are amazing rods I can feel everything I need to set the hook with middle of the road rods.

The only dobyns I have is a 705cb and it's the bees knees. Talk to Ron at valley sports, he has good pricing on dobyns rods

dobyns are the only rods that I agree with basically all the specific actions they've chosen for techniques. A huge pro with them too is if you break the rod due to user error you pay a reasonable fee and it's replaced with a brand new rod.
