Super User *Hootie Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 Got a new g loomis imx 784c coming today. Undecided about which reel I want to put on it. I could put on one of my Chronarch 200e6,s, or one of my Curado i's. What to do, what to do. Hootie 1 Quote

Super User webertime Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 Kind of like saying.. I'm going to pick Oliva Munn up for our date should I take the Bughotti Veyron or my Singer Porsche 911? 1 Quote
BassmanDan Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 A new rod has to have a new reel to go with it doesn't it? I just got the new Lew's lite Tournament Pro and am very impressed with it...or maybe a Chronarch Ci4? 1 Quote

Hootie I thought they only had a 783 in the new IMX series, anyway, let me know what you think, I've been really tempted as I like the reel seats being used but I've seen mixed reviews on longer models so I'd like to hear how you feel about this model. This one is the previous version. I have also seen mixed reviews on the newer IMX's. Hootie Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 We should all have such a dilemma! Current fad is to put a Tatula on it. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted October 18, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 18, 2014 Neither; 50e lol That could work. I have two of the green Curado 50e's, and one Chronarch 50e. Hootie Quote

Super User *Hootie Posted October 18, 2014 Author Super User Posted October 18, 2014 I have a Curado 50e on my imx 782c. By the way, this just happens to be my 2000th post. When do I get my plaque....lol. Hootie Quote
John G Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Hootie, do you have any JDM reels yet? You have all this nice gear but I have never seen you post about JDM reels. I agree that a new rod requires a new reel and IMHO, the new Scorpion ( same as new Curado) would look great! Quote

It will probably be in my arsenal before next Spring. It would really look great on my Loomis spinnerbait rod. The rod is a deep red color. Hootie Quote

Super User FishTank Posted October 18, 2014 Super User Posted October 18, 2014 I would go with the Chronarch or you could brake the bank and go with a Metanium. And by the way, I don't care for the new IMX either. Something about any of the rods that Loomis has "redesigned", has left a bad taste in my mouth. It's almost like they have taken a step back and charged people more for it. Quote

Hootie I have a new 803C GLX and it is, to me, a step back from what the old version was. I also have a 844C IMX that is 8 years old and the cork is starting to fall apart. I thought I would send it in through the xpeditor service but I my local tackle shop let me try out a demo of the new one before hand. Short version I did not care for it. Quote

Arv Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 What are you gonna use it for? I really like the 50 sizes from shimano. My favorite reel right now is my 51 core. Quote

It's a heavy power rod. Plan on using it for tubes, beaver baits and jigs.I have pretty much decided to put one of my Curado i's on it. I am using a reel I already have, rather than buy a new one right now. Hootie Quote
