I'm heading up to maine next week for 3-4 days for work and apparently the owners house i will be staying at lives right on Moosehead Lake. I've done a little bit of research (of course) because you know when i am off the clock ill be fishing his backyard! What would i have the most luck targeting from shore? MEFishFinder says there is no bass which seems odd since its the biggest lake in Maine. What about wild trout?

You should check the fishing regulations. You can do so online I do believe. I think that Moosehead Lake closed to fishing October 1st.

I've never fished Moosehead but I know there are smallies in there. There are bass tournaments there so they must be in there. I'd bring senkos, green tubes on jigheads, spinnerbaits, red craw rattletraps and small squarebills (in a couple of different colors).

Let us know how you do.

No bass? Didnt you guys see the BASS's top 100 bass fisheries in the US this year? Moosehead Lake and China Lake in ME made the list. I doubt it made the list with no bass in the lake.
