Super User Raul Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 Hey guys wondering what your most expensive combo is casting or spinning. Mine is a Diawa tatula type R paired with a cabelas mag touch. $300 :) :) You can´t buy a cool reel with 300 dollars, let alone an entire combo. Quote

Super User buzzed bait Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 i'm not in the same league as these guys, but my tatula reel/rod combo or my curado 300e/okuma swimbait rod would be my more expensive set ups. i just can't bring myself to spend more than about $300 per combo. maybe one of these days i will treat myself to a nicer set up, but even at that i think more than $500-$600 would be crazy for me to spend. if i could find more time to get on the water i could justify it, but right now i just couldn't even think about it. You don´t have to justify anything to anybody other than to yourself, I got 8 reels that have never been used, I should say, I have 8 expensive reels that have never been used, 4 of them aren´t even spooled with line, I used to fish everyday, nowdays I may fish once a month if I´m lucky but when that moment comes I want to enjoy it the most, having cool stuff and fishing with it is part of the gratification, that justifies every single penny I spent. 3 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 My most expensive gear would be my Avid rod and my two Chronarch 50e models. Next would be my two Stradic 1000FI reels. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 Not real sure. It's a toss-up between the NFC 6'10" mag lite with a CI4 and the SCV 6'9" MLXF with a Stradic Mg. I do have a couple Sustains and quite a few Chronarchs, but they are on cheaper customs. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 Where are you folks getting these great deals? Just keep your eyes open. Winter is coming and a lot of people sell stuff off for good prices. Either to upgrade or just get some money for Xmas, ect. I missed a steez last Dec. that had a buy it now of $200. I just didn't have the extra cash. Quote

Lucky Craft Man Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 What I paid and what the retail is are two different things. I have a fly combo that would go for about $1,300, but I definitely didn't pay that much. The bargain hunting is the best part. Quote
bass1980 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Steez + sv spool and Dobyns DX for me. However going to sell that setup soon for a reAL steez sv and probably going to pair with something megabass. Quote

Two winters ago I got a Rainshadow RX7 custom and an RX8 custom...$100 and $105 respectively to my door. I looked up the cost of the RX8 blank. $144 and change. My first spiral wrapped rod. The RX7 is less, but still a great rod with more sensitivity than most of my rods. Quote
