Hey guys wondering what your most expensive combo is casting or spinning. Mine is a Diawa tatula type R paired with a cabelas mag touch. $300 :) :) :) :) :)

Custom Wrapped Calstar 800lx and a shimano Curado 201.   My swimbait combo,  Rod retails at $350.00 on Charkbait. with custom work, including turks head, and cork tape. costed me $50 from a friend.   Upgraded berrings on real  put it at $240.

$640     But used of course it would never sell for that lol

I have caught albacore,  Halibut up to 30lbs on the rod.   and plenty of 5-8lb and even a 12lb bass on it.   It has more sentimental value to me than the rest of my gear put together.  Its priceless.

Always a wiseguy making at least one post.  I figure you have line that costs more than that combo.  : :teeth:

P.S.  I can rag this guy cuz he is a friend.  So don't get upset with me.  :eyebrows:

Mine's got to be a Core 100MG sitting on top of an 7'1" M/M Abu Garcia Villian.  Just under $530.

NRX 852c green+ Curado 51e. Didn't pay anywhere near retail though. I actually have about the exact same amount into my frog rod since it was all retail, and that's a 7'2" 13 *** Black HXF + BB1 Pro.

Revo SX and Abu Veritas MMF, $260 retail, paid $140 total due to sales.  Use it for topwater/jerkbaits, squarebills, rat-l-traps, light jigs, some spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, open-water frogging, and even wacky wormin or light texas rigs.  Great setup for lots of techniques!

My upgraded Metanium 13 HG and Megabass F4-68X7 or my Conquest 2014 200 and Megabass F6-72X4. They retail for roughly the same.

Retail,

I have a dx 745 with a zillion type r on it for which equals roughly $800.

I have t3 on a Daiko Karisma stick which retail is about $900 though I didn't nearly pay that much.

Expensive toys make the game more fun

I have a similar set up, with the difference being my Veritas is a 6'9" MH/F and my Revo SX was supertuned by Mike @ DVT.  If you've not done the same, get yours tuned.  It's one of my best casting reels.

Conventional set up is a shimano citica on a St Croix Rage.....Fly rod is a Sage Bass II paired up with a lamson litespeed that goes for about $900 total.  I have other fly rods in the same range but i haven't bought any of them for near their MSRP....

Most expensive at my actual cost...7'6" Zillion HF Flip and Pitch rod with TD-Z 103HL Type R...$440  Doesn't include replacing the spool after it was stolen or the Daiwa Samurai braid.  Don't flip or pitch so it is also one of my least used rods although I have used it for for standard casting.  Not much call for a Heavy in my area.  I do like both the rod and reel tho.
