adam32 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I bought a Symetre two summers ago and love it. I was thinking of buying a new one. But now it's getting bad reviews because of the supposedly upgrades? My current Symetre is built solid and works great. So which model do you have? I'm talking about the current model available the fl. I gave it a bad review because it was no where near the quality of the my symetre fjs. Rough gears, flex in the frame, plus i couldn't hold it comfortably because shimano decided to design it for someone with hands the size of a 8 year old kid. Quote
adam32 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 To the o.p. my recommendation would be to look for another new daiwa tierra. I haven't been really happy with any spinning reel since daiwa discontinued the tierra, advantage, and sol. And I've bought a LOT of spinning reels since those. Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted October 18, 2014 Super User Posted October 18, 2014 Well yea Ci4+.... No question, but OP wants something less expensive as stated.. As such there are a lot of good answers to this.. I like the Saros in 1000 but not above 2500.. To much flex in reel stem.. Try a president & save for a ci4+, lol Quote

How long as the newly designed Symetre FL been out? Like I said, I bought mine in mid-summer 2013. Maybe it was the 2012 model, I don't know. I do know its black, cost me around $100.00 and has been working very good for me. Quote
