MS Berry Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 A friend of mine makes the best jigheads that I have fished with, (Let me know if you need any and I will give you his contact info) but they are plain lead with red hooks. I decided to take the chance and get some of the dip powder paint and fix them up. I have done about 50 now and was wondering if anyone could give me any inside tips on how to customize these great Jigheads. Like I said these are great jigheads with great hooks. Quote
mikel7 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I LIKE TO PUT EYES ON MINE. JUST TAKE A SMALL WOODEN STICK AND ROUND IT DOWN ONE LARGE AND ONE VERY SMALL. JUST DIP AND TOUCH THE JIG WITH THE LARGE ONE THEN LET IT DRY THEN DIP AND TOUCH THE SMALL ONE FOR THE CENTER. ITHEN DIP THE JIG IN LAQUER BUT THIS DOESN'T WORK VERY WELL. THE LAQUER AND EYES BUMP OFF WHEN FISHING AND HAS TO BE DONE AGAIN ON FOOTBALL JIGS ALSO THE LAQUER TURNS FLAT IF YOU CAN FIND A CLEAR EPOXY THAT MIGHT WORK LET ME KNOW HOW YOU DO. I JUST DID SOME WITH STICK ON EYES FROM BARLOWS BUT I HAVEN'T FISHED THEM YET. Quote
