paleus Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 My Elite-4x HDI will not save it's noise reduction settings when powered off and then back on. I set the units surface clarity and noise reduction settings for a clear image, but if I power the unit off and back on, the image is cluttered. If I open the menu and select noise reduction and press enter twice (without even changing the setting) the image goes back to how it was before turning the unit off and is clear. Is this a normal behavior? Do I have a defective unit? All other settings seem to stay the same. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted October 17, 2014 Super User Posted October 17, 2014 Call Lowrance tech service. They should be able to help you. Quote
paleus Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Call Lowrance tech service. They should be able to help you. I'm currently 10 days into an email conversation with Lowrance support. They don't seem to understand what the issue is. I have shown them this video and given them the exact explanation above plus much more. I was hoping a Lowrance rep on here might see this thread and be able to help out. I'm going to try to make another video this weekend that might show the issue better. Quote
paleus Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 New video: Apparently YouTube annotations don't show up on embedded videos. I added annotations throughout the video to explain what is going on, you can see them if you watch the video on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkB6BvWyYLg Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Our CS reps have been unable to replicate what you are seeing on your unit. Have you allowed the unit a few minutes to "normalize" from the intial boot up to see if the noise is reduced? If the noise is still there after several minutes, try a hard reset (reset to default). It will clear up slightly, but not to where it looks like it does after going into the menu and re-selecting medium on the noise rejection. I just tried a hard reset this weekend as instructed by customer support. The second video was made after doing the reset. Quote
paleus Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 This has been resolved. Lowrance replaced the unit. Quote
