I really like to fish tubes and bought my first pack or Ikas and Hydras.

What size and hooks do you use. I bought the 4" ika and both 3 & 4" hydra.

I was thinking about using Owner twist lock. Thoughts?

I used the twist locks, but also the Mustad Ultra Lock EWG and the Gamakatsu Deep Throat Wide Gap.  Also may want to invest in some Mend-It to prolong the lives of these baits as well.

Take a look at the Yamamoto video on Ika's. Lure manufacturers want you to be successful using their products.

The Yamamoto Sugoi Hook is custom-designed by Gary, made exclusively for GYBC by Gamakatsu.

This hook incorporates an offset shank and a unique hook-point alignment that insures a straight line

pull for guaranteed hooksets. Once penetrated, the unique bend makes throwing the hook nearly impossible.

The ultimate hook for Tex-posing

I like the Trokar Tournament Tube Hook.  I use it for Tubes and it would be a great hook for Ikas.  You should use a solid head tube and rig it skin hooked.  If you lay the Tube/Ika along the hook you can see the entry angle at the head so the point lays right along the far side of the Tube Ika.

Thanks for the replies.

I use the TroKar tournament hooks for a lot of my tube fishing but was thinking it may rip these up alot being as I have heard they were pretty soft to start. I'll try a few out and see what works for me.
