newhampshirebass Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Any tips for summer and fall smallmouth bass? Quote
FunkJishing Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 from my experience crankbaiting, working jigs and drop shotting along with other rigged soft plastics techniques work best in fall. summer is when the topwater, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits shine most. thats just based off what i've had luck with. jitterbug127 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 For me summer was all about a good buzzbait or diving crank. Fall has been square bill or a pop r. I river fish 90% of time though Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted November 23, 2014 Super User Posted November 23, 2014 This summer was the year of the weightless stickbait for me!! I caught most of my smallmouth on a wacky rigged stickbait in a watermelon red flake color. I also caught some on swim jigs. Quote

Super User Crestliner2008 Posted November 26, 2014 Super User Posted November 26, 2014 A lot more information would be helpful (to us and for you), i.e.: type of water (lake, res or river), clarity of the water and depth you are fishing in. Forage base if you know that type of structures would also narrow down strategies. Quote
