The only reason I give this catch any credibility is based on a statement that Glen Lua was involved somehow?

If the bass was aged using ear bones vs scale rings, the age is accurate. The fact the bass was weighed after being kept alive before weighing only adds to the mystery , no mention of a fishery biologist weighing and validating this bass.

17.2 lb LMB isn't a special, however it is now the 2nd largest bass caught in Florida, that at is a game changer. The problem is the photos posted with this bass being held vertical is a good profile of this bass. The horizontal photo confirms the thin shape based on the hands holding it. This bass is clearly not a heavy body giant bass, therefor the weight comes into question.

None of this matters, this bass was officially accepted as 17.2 lbs and the 2nd largest bass for Florida.
