Smokinal Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Neither... Toyota Tundra! If I was rich, I'd be looking at a new GMC or the Tundra. 1 Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted October 10, 2014 Super User Posted October 10, 2014 As far as comfort goes I prefer Chevy, the Allison tranny its hard to beat durability wise, too. The 7.3 Powerstroke was an awesome engine, but was discontinued. I'm not a fan of the new Powerstrokes. I don't think u would go wrong with either truck. Personally I drive Chevy, now that Dodge stepped up and put a diesel in a half ton I would at least look at it. 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 10, 2014 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 10, 2014 Are you looking to get a new(er) truck? If so, it would be helpful to know if you're looking at new, used, gas or diesel. Also, how much weight do you plan on towing, and do you tow up/down mountains. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 11, 2014 Global Moderator Posted October 11, 2014 I've had Chevy, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota. In order of my personal preference 4.Dodge, 3.Ford, 2.Chevy, 1.Toyota. guys on here talked me into a Tundra for my last truck purchase, couldn't be happier. 1 Quote

EvanT123 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I'm partial to Nissan Working on car lots I've seen some Chevys take a straight up beating and keep coming back. Having to clear 18 inches of mushy snow on a 7 acre car lot with a manic behind the wheel will test any vehicle. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 11, 2014 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 11, 2014 The Tundra's are nice, but they don't have a diesel model, nor a dually option. Those were deal breakers for my last truck. 1 Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted October 11, 2014 Super User Posted October 11, 2014 For me it's always been Ford, 4x4 I live in Corn, Bean & Cow country... Ford is the truck here, followed by Dodge W/ Cummin's then Chevy.. It's my understanding that Ford has collaborated w/ Toyota on Trucks, however I do not know to what extent, if you see a Toyota on I 65 s.. It's Likely to be KVD... I see him a lot going to Cville BPS.. Not many Toys around here working, lol... 1 Quote

Super User DogBone_384 Posted October 11, 2014 Super User Posted October 11, 2014 Toyota: my wife & I owned three Toyota trucks since 1999, giving us a combined 26 years and 400+ K miles without anything more than gas, oil, tires, and brakes. The 3rd one, a 2006 Tundra is just getting started with 118K on it. Quote

I don't believe the newest Tundras are 3/4 ton, ands I know my '06 isn't, but I've overloaded it with stone, tools, everything else time & time again without any problems. Quote
