Just curious, but when are you ready to fish? do you have your fishing gear with you ready in your vehicle and just pick a body of water then pull over and fish? or do you plan in advance the fishing your gonna do the night before or the next day and then take your fishing gear with ? so do have your gear with you at ready in your possession all times or not? I myself have a ford ranger, and when i decide to fish then take my gear with. i know some people with trucks have tops and some don't. mine doesn't, otherwise i'd have my gear with me at all times and ready to go in the truck, not having with me and at home then having to get after you seen a body of water you drove by , thinking if i only had my gear ! but don't

I don't usually have mine with me, but it is always prepped up and ready in the garage. On occasion I will take 2 rods and my quick shoulder bag with me to work and hit a spot at lunch.

Everything is in the car 24/7 from April into November.....except the bag with the jar(s) of JJ's.  I don't leave those inside the car if its going to be hot.

I take a while to get ready for fishing, liek if it is a tournamnet it takes me quite awhile to prepare my gear.  Although in a pinch I can drop everthing and go hahaha

I don't keep my stuff with me. Sometimes I wish I did

but I think I'd need a compact travel rod setup for that.

However, my gear is usually at the ready at home. Just

back up the truck under the kayak, roll up the bed cover

lower the yak, tie it off, place the rods in the back and I'm

ready to go.

I keep some gear in my SUV and some in my boat and some in my truck. I usually plan a trip but if I find time I will go to a lake, pond, river or creek near me. About an hour ago I went to a lake down the street from where I work to throw my new Lews Speed spool I got and lined it up with a Spinnerbait. There was one guy on the dock and he must have thought I was nuts walking up in a shirt and tie. I cast 8 times and landed about a 3 lb bass. I said out loud "OK that works well" and left to go back to work. That guy really must have thought I was crazy. True story. I guess I'm always ready to fish.

LOL that's epic!

In my daily driver, I have a teloscopic rod rigged up with a Silver and Black J-9 Rapala, and a chartreuse and white spinner bait for back up.  I can stop at pretty much any creek or river along the way and have shot at a fish.  I keep 90% of my gear on the boat, so generally I can hook up and go with little notice.  Assuming I kept the batteries ready...  Unless we are gonig to target catfish or something like that.  Then I would need time to set up my rod holders, etc.

Creek fishing, I'm ready in a moment.  Just grab my vest, boots, a rod from the boat and my box of "creek" lures and I'm off.

I am lucky I have about 8 man made lakes within five minutes of the house.  These lakes are public property that have mowed banks and mitigation areas throughout for breeding wildlife.  They are all deep clear water lakes with lots of lily pad  areas.   When I get home from work, I pick a lake and I'm bank  fishing in five minutes.   I never leave rods in the truck, its just too hot down here.  On weekends I hit the everglades in the boat.  All spots are connected by culvert pipes to the everglades system, and loads of bass.  Its a great location if you love to bass fish. :respect-059:

Fish everyday, make my decision early am as to where and what I'm fishing for, then grab the appropriate set ups.  I usually keep a ml spinning in the car.

You can get a compact pole and small container fill it with a few extra plastics, hooks, jigs, etc from the main tackle. That way you can keep it in the truck when you just have to stop and fish. That what I do anyways.

I always have 3 rods and my tackle book bag full in my car all the time I made a rod rack that takes up my trunk. I fish before work on lunch and after work sometimes.

I do have a couple rods with me in the car. I have a 2 piece spinning rod a M/H casting rod and a cheapo big boy rod for throwing the big stuff. There is also a bookbag with some 3700's in it and a smaller bag iwith some small boxes nside it also. I can toss a couple things inside the tiny shoulder bag and be good to go if that's all I might want to take or even care to.

I work from home, and all my stuff is in the corner next to the door, so I can grab it an bolt. I don't have a cover for the back up my truck, or I would leave it in there.

I drive a 2000 Honda accord, and luckily I have the small hatch from the trunk to the back seat. I normally keep all of my gear in the car with me(3 combos and my tackle bag) so I can go fish if I get off work early enough.

My gear is in my boat 24/7 during the season, and at a moments notice I can be hooked up and ready to roll to any lake in a 50 mile radius.
