I've been fishing since a kid with my father (mostly saltwater) and as i got older i began becoming more and more obsessed with fishing. I mainly fish freshwater these days and what i love most about fishing is that there are no limitations to what can be done and expiramented with. as a kid i'd use live bait and never really used lures, my dad didn't. he was more of a fish for dinner guy. when i began going off on my own and digging a little deeper i found that i like fishing lures more. I enjoy swapping blades on my spinner baits and trimming skirts or sharpening hooks. I like the challenge, trying to catch fish in a way that's not simply dangling a live worm or minno infront of a hungry fish. I like using artificial baits to even the playing field a little bit, really work for the bite. I know live bait is all that will work in some stuations but i just felt like sharing my prefrence :) haha but theres a lil about me. btw my names brandon.

Welcome aboard Brandon !

Glad to see another Mainer on here. I fish much further south then you do around the Fryeburg area. The Northeast forum on here has tons of great info about fishing in northern New England.

Watch out for the long cold snow filled winters up there in Northern Maine. You could go cabin fever stir crazy up around Caribou and Houlton.

Its a looooonggggg winter up there from Nov-May.... There will be a few mornings between -40 and -30 degrees. Better dress warm, buy a power auger and some ice fishing gear.
