Super User J Francho Posted October 8, 2014 Super User Posted October 8, 2014 Chris, do you have a link to any info? I don't want to call down there, and disturb his wife. I'm in a little bit of shock on this one. Dave was both very helpful to members on this forum, but to me personally. He could be a little crusty, but he ALWAYS had time to chat about fishing, reels, rod building, and just anything. Sad, sad news. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 9, 2014 Global Moderator Posted October 9, 2014 Always valued his opinion on reels, most anything else for that matter. Thoughts and prayers to his family, we lost a good one there. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted October 9, 2014 Super User Posted October 9, 2014 I'm gonna miss him. He was a big help to me, always making time to answer my questions. We banged heads a few times; agreeing to disagree about some things, but I never truly lost my respect for the man. Every time I read one of his "crusty old man" posts, I thought of my grandmother, and one of her sayings, getting a good chuckle. There's an old expression; "he calls a spade a spade". means "he tells it like it is". My grandmother's version was, "I like him, he doesn't call a spade a spade, he calls it a &%#$ing shovel". That was David Green. RIP, amigo. 1 Quote
