I just saw a post on Facebook and it looks like our own .RM. passed away. RIP David. I didn't know you, but your opinion was always very valuable.

Sad to hear. He was a wealth of information.

Chris, do you have a link to any info?  I don't want to call down there, and disturb his wife.

I'm in a little bit of shock on this one.  Dave was both very helpful to members on this forum, but to me personally.  He could be a little crusty, but he ALWAYS had time to chat about fishing, reels, rod building, and just anything.

Sad, sad news.

Found him and now remember him and his posts.

Only 68, too.

Big loss to the Forum members.

RIP.

David was well known and respected in this area for his rod building and reel repair skills, he has helped many local anglers over the years and will be missed.

What???? While he and I disagreed  from time to time, I valued his opinion and always read his posts. What a loss. Thoughts go out to his family.

Terrible news.  Like others, we were at odds at times, but I still respected him and his knowledge.  Sad day indeed.

Always valued his opinion on reels, most anything else for that matter. Thoughts and prayers to his family, we lost a good one there.

I'm gonna miss him. He was a big help to me, always making time to answer my questions. We banged heads a few times; agreeing to disagree about some things, but I never truly lost my respect for the man.

Every time I read one of his "crusty old man" posts, I thought of my grandmother, and one of her sayings, getting a good chuckle.

There's an old expression; "he calls a spade a spade". means "he tells it like it is".

My grandmother's version was, "I like him, he doesn't call a spade a spade, he calls it a &%#$ing shovel".

That was David Green.

RIP, amigo.
