harshman Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I was wondering how many of you use a fluid bed when appling powder paint to your lures. Are there noticable differences in the finish of the bait when you use a fluid bed? I would also like to know if there is a way to make a home made fluid bed? Any input would be great. Thanks in advance. Harshman Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I wish I had one. The guys on TU talk about it alot and how to build your own. I was looking at them and dang they are expensive. Suposidly they use less paint and alot cleaner look. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 23, 2007 Super User Posted January 23, 2007 I have one that I bought from Dayooper on TU but rarely use it. If you are doing a lot of jigheads it is nice but if I am only paint a few jigs I do not even use it. Allen Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-3276 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 We have several large ones built by Component Systems and their quality is fantastic. Some of the lil 3" models just use an air pump but the comercial models also have a vibrating motor in them so that you get better coverage . The nice thing about a fluid bed is that you get thin even coats and the eyes do not clog as easy. Here's a pic of one of ours CS made for us Quote
