So I have never used Fluorocarbon (don't shoot) before and starting looking around at various products - specifically Seaguar, simply because many on this forum seem to use/talk about it.

My questions is: what are the differences in their product lines - better abrasion resistance, sensitivity, strength?  Besides pricing (see below).

Using 6lb test - pricing from TW.

Red Label - 250 yds - 10.99

InvizX - 200 yds - 16.99

AbrazX - 200 yds - 17.99

Tatsu - 200 yds - 36.99

Is Tatsu really worth over 3x the Red Label?  Any comments or recommendations appreciated.

I think straight Red Label is a fine line to start with, especially if treated regularly with Line and Lure Conditioner. It doesn't have terrible memory at lower pound tests, it has decent abrasion resistance, and doesn't stretch too much. I use it when I use straight fluoro.

Something to consider is Sunline FC Sniper. There seems to be a consensus on the board that Sniper is a very nice step up from Red Label while not being overly expensive. A forum search on the topic of fluorocarbon will give you more opinions that you'll know what to do with.

Well, I think Red Label can be used for leader, but not main line.

InvizX is the better choice for spinning tackle; AbrazX for baitcasting.

Tatsu is the best line I have ever fished.

If you use backing and measure your line you can spool three reels

with a 200 yard spool. ~65' X 3.

Never used Tatsu, but have the other 3.

If you are use to "mono" and will be using 6# on a spinning reel, I think you'll like the Invisx. It's manageable. Might stretch a bit more than some other FC's, but not like mono. I use it in 6# and 8# on spinning outfits, and even 8# on a light casting outfit.

I've never used Red Label at 6#, but have used 8# up to 20#, and for the money, I haven't been disappointed. I still use it for leaders because I like the knot it ties when joined with braid. A little more memory than I like for mainline, but at that price point, I think it's really good line.

I've only spooled one reel with AbrazX and have not been a huge fan, but the sample size is too small for me to be too critical.

I've been pretty happy with the Red Label and InvisX.

I went with a spool of Tatsu dont think I need to go elsewhere though I had not tried the other lines

plenty of leader on that spool.. one buy and the problem is solved on that front

you can get it on sale at times.. last year TW had a ridiculous clearance sale on Tatsu.. pair a discount with that and its a no brainer

Tatsu is tough but I've broken it off many times so please dont have any crazy ideas about it being a dream line.. its a good fluoro but its still fluoro

Red Label - Leader material IMO

InvizX - Good all purpose FC line.  Use it for spinning and baitcasting

AbrazX - Better abrasion resistance.  I use it in 15 - 20lb for flipping

Tatsu - Best of the best of the best.

I think Red label is a starting point, plus it's pretty good for soft cover, not incredible, but has pretty good feel on slack line senko work.. I use 20 and it's not bad...I don't use L&L cond.. But lotsa folks do

A very fair assessment!

I am not a fan of Red label for main line, but as a leader material for dropshotting it is good.

I've used the Invisix primarily on my baitcasters in 12# and have been generally happy with it.  I tried a spool of Abrazix, but didn't find it to be any better, or worse, than Invisix so I stuck with that.

I am not loyal to Invisix by any stretch of the imagination, but it is very convenient to buy as all of my local shops carry it.

I have 2 baitcasters spooled with Invisx...

15# for plastics and 20# for jigs.

Very satisfied.

InvisX and AbrazX are both good lines, but I prefer FC Sniper.

+1 ...These are the main three and priced fairly close together .

I use Red Label as main line treated with KVD all the time, and it works well. Not sure what others issues are, but the 12# is a darn good line.

Simply..................YES !

Thanks for all the feedback.  I think I'll grab a spool of both InvizX & AbrazX for now and start there.  Since I never have used FC I'll skip out on Tatsu for now many in a year or so.

Tatsu is the best, by far. But as some have already said, invisx is for spinning reels (I think it's a bit smaller than usual). Abrasx is great for baitcasting.

I have had very little issues with red label, honestly. I'd buy it more often, but it's not carried by my local shop, invisx is.

I think all 3 would work fine.  I have not used Tatsu and don't plan to.  InvizX seems a little more limp than AbrazX.  All work well if you really take the time to tie a good knot and wet it.

Tatsu is the BOMB (to borrow roadwarrior's quote). Someday, I will try Shooter, if and when I can find it on sale. Till then, Tatsu it is for my jigs.

This comparison chart might be useful (from the Seaguar catalog):
