Super User Fishes in trees Posted October 2, 2014 Super User Posted October 2, 2014 What do the local guys in your area use? That's where I'd start. Your info says your favorite lake is Telico lake. I don't know anything about that lake. Is it a highland or lowland type reservoir? Connected to a river system? Clearish or more stained water color? I know in the lakes that I fish, at some point in the fall fish move shallow for a while, the conservation lake that I normally fish is smaller than many coves on LOZ or Truman. In the lakes that I fish moving to shallower areas and throwing square bills or spinnerbaits to cover water and/or throwing soft plastics at objects isn't a bad plan - but it isn't a fine tuned plan either. Try to check out and see what the other guys in your neighborhood are doing and go from there. Quote
martintheduck Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 1/4 oz spinner bait willow blade w/ colorado kicker Fluke ---- white in color if shad are around Top water popper Hard jerkbait of some kind --- Floating rouge or a KVD suspeding jerkbait Squarebill Mid diving crankbait Jig --- had great success cranking shores and flipping a jig into isolated weeds/ laydowns I've also had GREAT success in 15/20 foot of water dragging a carolina rig with a shad colored worm. And a drop shot. It all depends on situations obviously... I can guarantee you catch fish on the above list of baits so long as you choose the right colors. On shad lakes I stick to shad colors. einscodek Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I'd have these on permanently in the fall: alabama rig spinnerbait Quote
GoDeep Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I usually fish lipless cranks this time of year, but I'm killing them on a Biffle bug and hard head. Quote
