Super User WIGuide Posted September 30, 2014 Super User Posted September 30, 2014 I've fished for a $30,000 bass boat a few times now and all the way down to bragging rights against my dad. Typically though in the club tournaments I fish it's somewhere between $400 to $700 for first. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If you're asking because you're in it to make money, you might want to just get a second job. With a few rare exceptions most are lucky to break even in the long haul. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 30, 2014 Super User Posted September 30, 2014 85 dollars? VA law dictates that all tournament winnings be paid in Canadian Loonies. I'm not sure the exchange rate, but it isn't good. lol....kidding. 2 Quote

Super User Lund Explorer Posted October 2, 2014 Super User Posted October 2, 2014 For those who compete in tournaments... What has been the typical amount of money paid out for winning a tournament that you compete in? There is no typical amount as prize money is usually based on a combination of the number of boats fishing, and the entry fees charge. You also need to consider that many clubs or organizations withhold a portion of these fees to use for either a classic pot or administrative costs. Quote
slimshad Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I have been paid to fish this year. Doesn't happen every year. It is nice to break even most years. This year I have been fortunate to win a few and make a check in the rest. Our club has been way down since 2010. We had 70 paid members then and now we are about 45. We only get 14-17 boats now. Winner gets around $350-400. Good luck this is a tough sport when it comes to competition. Everyone wants that little chunk of cash and they don't just hand it to you. Out work, study and fish them and it will come. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted October 2, 2014 Global Moderator Posted October 2, 2014 Anywhere from 0 for charity tournaments, up to 500.00 for club tounament's, and thousands for national circuit's. Mike Quote
Justin Mott Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 We fish tournaments that range from $1000-$8000. The charity tournaments are typically $1000 pay outs while the big tournament trails are $6000 with the classic being $8000. I haven't seen a tournament that pays below a thousand unless they base the pay off of the number of boats. Quote
CDMeyer Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Around $1500-$2500 dollars..... but since I am in high school most of our tournaments are just awards no money Quote
