Topwater98 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I was wondering how most people get video of themselves fishing without someone videoing them? I know a lot of people use hat cameras. Is there a reasonably cheap way to get good video of your fishing while fishing from the bank or a canoe? I do most of my fishing out of a canoe. I have a couple of good waterproof cameras. One is small and doesn't zoom very much. The other one is a camcorder. Do you know if there is a way to mount a camera that I already have to a hat? Thanks for any help. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 29, 2014 Super User Posted September 29, 2014 I think you'd be better off somehow mounting a tripod or monopod to your canoe and then screwing the camera to it. Be sure to put it opposite the side your normally cast with. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted September 29, 2014 Super User Posted September 29, 2014 Seems most of the good self-made fishing video lately is done with GoPro 2 Quote
Stumphunter Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 GoPro's are great, but if you are looking for something that cost a little less check this camera out. http://www.wolfcamera.com/product/POLXS100.htm Quote
Topwater98 Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 I decided to look for any suggestions on Google and found this video. I think I will try this and thought I would share it in case anyone else wanted to try it. Quote
atcoha Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 go pro...headstrap, or get some kind of pole mount if you are in a boat, or kayak. Quote
bassguytom Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Go pro chest mount. Even know the camera is light on the brim of a hat it will hurt your neck after awhile. I speak from experience. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I have tried it, but I know Shimano has an action camera for 300$. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted October 1, 2014 Super User Posted October 1, 2014 I'm thinking about getting a go pro camera and some good mounts, who knows maybe I can be the next Glenn May hahaha Quote
WDinarte Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I have a Gopro and I'm happy, you can have some under water action with this camera. Quote

rboat Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Polaroid just came out with a small cube camera for video. Not sure if it is any good. It may work well for your application and save you some cash. Quote
