Edit - I just went to pull the trigger on a recon but TW won't allow you to split payment between two credit cards. Dang!

 

Buy a TW gift card with one of your credit cards, apply it to the cart, and use the other card for the balance.  If you are not in a hurry they put the gift cards at 10% off a few times a year.  Get it and then wait for a sale.

 

BTW - I have the Dobyns DX701C and would recommend it or the 702.

Curious to hear your review. This is a rod I'm looking at.

I'll be fishing it on Monday. I plan to at least land a few pickerel on it and hopefully a few bass too. Out of the rod tube it looks good. Build quality is nice. Straight guides and no extra epoxy on the guides. It's extremely light. With a fully spoolled px68,the total weight is 10oz. Balance point with that reel is just above the reel seat nut. I've never owned a ml casting rod so I have nothing to compare it to head to head.
