Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. When does the fall bite usually pick up in oklahoma? This is my first year fishing so im trying to figure out the seasonal patterns here. Also do the fish get fatter durring this time. Right now the fish i catch are healthy but not fat, just wondering what kind of change the bass go through.

Should be starting any time in your area. I'm a few hours north but our water temps have been dropping and fish have been moving shallow quickly these past few weeks and I've seen guys from northern Arkansas reporting the lakes turning over this past week.

I have had a lot of success with a white soft jerk bait shallow. it should be good till water temps stay in the low 60s.

I fished Texoma Sunday and Monday and had water temps of 73-78 degrees.  The fishing was pretty tough overall but had a little storm blow thru yesterday morning that turned them on.  Got a limit in about an hour and a half.  All that is to say the fall bite has not really started in earnest on Texoma yet.
