Real macho men ( just like me ) fish for real macho sized beeg momma basses in lakes where macho sized fish live, that means lots of wood and rocks, and the famous El Salto is not a really good big momma lake, Marte R Gomez also known as Sugar Lake is that place. Of course you need macho gear, my trust Curado 200B, paired to my trusty GLoomis MBR784 spooled with 17 lb test trusty Big Game, some 1/2 or 3/4 oz black jigs, a bag of Brush Hogs in Midnight Chartreuse and a1/2 oz white/chartreuse with a blade the size of a hubcap would be my weapons of choice to fish that lake. The jig n BH for the big mommas and the spinnerbait just for having fun ketchin them 5+ lb dinks.

I guess I'm weird.

Rod and reel:  5'6" Cherrywood HD (yes, I'm loving this cheap thing, strange as that is!) and my tuned 2014 model 5500c3.

Lures:

1.  Zara Spook.  Can I have two different colors or does this count as two different lures?  If only one color, Black Shiner.  If two colors, Black Shiner and Bullfrog.

2.  Texas rig with black tungsten bullet sinkers and either Mann's Jelly Worms or Yum 4" straight worms.  The fish haven't noticed any difference between the two, I don't think, but the Mann's really does look more natural.

3.  1/2oz blue and black swim jig with chunk trailers.

4.  One of a couple old, high quality spinnerbaits.  The particular one I'm thinking of has a copper Colorado blade and one silver willow leaf.

5.  Chartreuse and black 3/4 oz shallow diver or 1/2 oz jerkbait.  I fish them much the same.

The above have all proven themselves to me over and over again.

Lake?  Hominy Ridge, the one that nobody else seems to be able to catch anything from.  I've been patterning it all year.

Regards,

Josh
