Before each outing, I go to the shore, build a fire,  and put on a full voodoo chanting ceremony, and baptize my rod with the blood of the ancestors.

Then...I ask for Jobu to come.

It is very bad to drink Jobu's rum.

This is it!  The last 3 times I went out got skunked.  Well not completely as I was catching pickerel during one trip, but no bass.  However, I just realized I was wearing a different hat than I normally do.  I am going back out on Sunday so I am going to have to wear what just became my lucky fishing hat.

I always wear a horse shoe ring the wife gave me for luck, 45 years ago.  I feel naked without it.

2 days before a tournament I clip my nails.

Never net a Pike or Pickrel.

Leave the net stowed.  It makes it a pain if you need it in a pinch, but I feel like if you are expecting to use it, you'll be disappointed.

I don't really have any. I don't get the net out but that's more because my boat is small and I try to save as much space as possible.

I've gotten in the habit of wearing my Shimano socks and hat.... left over from my former life as a bike mechanic!
