Super User Catch and Grease Posted September 26, 2014 Super User Posted September 26, 2014 Don't bring a banana on the boat, and it doesn't feel right fishing without my steelers hat... 1 Quote

Preytorien Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I wear my Siebert Outdoors t-shirt quite a bit (probably waaaay too often) when I'm fishing. But at least it can guarantee that I WON'T catch a fish with one of his jigs when I do. I've been trying all summer to land a nice fish, with his jigs, while wearing his t-shirt......I can't seem to get the stars to align just right, or maybe I'm not holding my mouth just the right way. Ha! One of these days...... I don't like to start fishing on a full stomach. For some reason I just don't. I'll eat on the boat itself during the day if I get hungry, but I feel like it breaks my concentration. Other than that, nothing in particular, I just have to be comfortable in my clothes. Quote
Super User Raul Posted September 26, 2014 Super User Posted September 26, 2014 Why no banananas? For the very same reason you bring your lucky shirt/cap/stuff n' so. 1 Quote

Steveo-1969 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Lucky hat for me, Chicago Bears camo hat. My son has a lucky hat too and he experienced the power of it last Saturday. He forgot his hat in the morning and watched me catch fish while he missed strike after strike. Then he wore his lucky hat on Saturday afternoon and caught fish. Coincidence? I think not!!! Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted September 26, 2014 Global Moderator Posted September 26, 2014 I think I posted this before... My wife, I and another couple went deep sea fishing out of Isle Mirada in the Florida Keys a few years ago and when we got to the dock the Captain asked if any of us had a banana. When we all said no, he asked if anyone ate a banana that morning, again we all said no. Our friend asked what if we did, he said we'd have to get another charter! This guy was serious. RSM789 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I have 3 shirts I rotate thru, but one BassMaster camo hat that I always wear. 40 years ago when I first started bass fishing as a pre-teen, my younger sister & I always wore black cowboy hats with a B.A.S.S. patch sewed on to them. Kind of stood out on the So Cal lake we fished, but our mom could spot us from a mile away. Quote

Super User aavery2 Posted September 26, 2014 Super User Posted September 26, 2014 I have a pair of line clippers that I have used for years, if I leave the house to go fishing without them I get the same feeling I get when I can't remember where my wallet is. Quote
slimshad Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I just noticed when my partner and I wear our Bass Mafia shirts we win money. I ask to get a picture when we win money and every single time the picture has those shirts. I guess I know what we will wear in our Classic.... Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted September 26, 2014 Super User Posted September 26, 2014 honestly i don't want to catch one on the first cast.... don't know why, but that's my only one. On the bright side you don't get skunked. I don't have any fishing superstitions or clothing I need to wear for that extra confidence. 1 Quote
Heron Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Before each outing, I go to the shore, build a fire, and put on a full voodoo chanting ceremony, and baptize my rod with the blood of the ancestors. Then...I ask for Jobu to come. 2 Quote
EvanT123 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Miller lite hat. I won't take out my fish grips or pliers until I catch a fish. Usually the first fish I catch is a toothy one or a 10. Inch smallmouth on trebles. This makes it I interesting trying to keep the fish on and reaching in my bag lol. Quote

paleus Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I tend to do better when I remember to put my lucky plug in the drain on the boat. Any plug will work though. Quote
Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I don't like catching one on the first cast.... it happened to me a few weeks ago and I only caught one more fish the rest of the day. 1 Quote
RSM789 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I don't like catching one on the first cast.... it happened to me a few weeks ago and I only caught one more fish the rest of the day. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to catch a fish on both my first & last cast. A small bass grabbed my Zara Spook moments after I began the day, while a nice 3 lb gal sucked up a Senko I had skipped under a dock six hours later. In between, I caught 28 more, so no bad luck for me. I would have kept fishing, but my niece was getting married about 2 hours after that & I wanted to show up in something other than my lucky hat & shirt. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 29, 2014 Super User Posted September 29, 2014 I never take a picture until I catch a bass. If I get skunked then I take a pic of the lake as I am heading home. 1 Quote
