Ogandrews Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Number 1 goal for me this season is to beat my northern pike pb of 44.5. If I do this successfully and go through all of the right paperwork I have really good shot at breaking the catch and release state record as I was about .5” off last season. number 2 is to break the 50” mark for musky. I have hooked into 3 in my life that I believe were over 50, now I just need to land one. number 3 would be I would really like to get a 6lbs or better largemouth. Not the easiest thing to do here in mn but it’s more than doable, bonus points if it’s on a frog. if I had to have another it would be to start guiding out of kayaks for pike. It’s what I know the best and I know people would get as much of a thrill out of it as I do 1 Quote
Hillbilly Bennett Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 I have 2 goals. One is to fish as much as I possibly can and the other is, “To try not to suck.” Lol When I go out I try to catch as many as I can but it definitely messes up the fishing high if I do something dumb, like forgetting to retie after a few fish, and I lose a good one. I guess my main goal is to enjoy fishing as much as I can by doing the things I know how to do on the water as well as I possibly can. Some of my most satisfying days have been days where I was able to grind out 5 bites when the conditions are particularly tough. Quote
HenryPF Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 #1 Goal - make the person fishing with me the most comfortable ever. Always have whatever they need and then some. Food, water, lures, gear, etc. I am not a guide just want the person to have fun. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted March 29, 2020 Super User Posted March 29, 2020 • To enjoy fellowship with whoever I’m with, maybe meet a need in their life. • Recharging/ relaxing myself. • Catch a new PB • Catch a fish over 4 Pounds. • Catch a new numbers record for the day. • Catch fish on a bait I’ve never caught fish on before. • To provide meals for the family. • Learn something. Thats about it... 2 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted March 29, 2020 Super User Posted March 29, 2020 My main goal for fishing is to have fun every time I go fishing. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted March 30, 2020 Super User Posted March 30, 2020 Three main goals A1 - Enjoy my time on the water A2 - Improve my skills with various techniques A3 - Put some fillets in the freezer (species doesn't matter much) Two secondary goals B1 - Catch a new PB LMB B2 - Catch a SMB - really, really...haven't caught one yet that I remember Quote
t_bone_713 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 My goal every time I go out is to catch quantity because I believe if you catch quantity, quality will come. Bass fishing is tough in the Virginia Tidewater area especially from a bank, if I am thinking through the patterns and catching multiple fish it's a good day. Quote
Dangerfield Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 #1 Goal - Break my PBs set last year for SMB (6lb) and LMB (5.6lb) #2 Goal - Get my daughter on the boat for 1-2 hour trip #3 Goal - Catch a Musky (really hard in my areas with pike soo prevalent) Everyday Goal - Have fun even if the bite isn't on!
