As odd as this is going to sound. October 19th we had a tournament out of Malletts Bay... 57-58 degree water. Smallies still haven't moved up to the shallows... They're still being caught in 37' of water. The water is still really warm for this time of year.

We clobbered the smallies on Jerkbaits in 14'. Some Carolina Rig fish in 20+'

Hearing from a couple people that the Kezar open was a hard one to fish 4ft swells in the lower basin and higher swells in the main lake. 10 fish 37 pounds took it only 18 boats went and 7 came up empty. Moving baits spinner rattles traps were the key baits.

My boat is out of the water till 2015 what a sad thing to say. Now to look at my diary and tally up the year.

The past week has been very consistent when I have been able to get out on the water. All the rain the past week caused a lot of rivers to flood and lakes to go up a couple feet or so. This past weekend was the best fishing of the past week. Yesterday was real good, the jig bite was on.

That's one of my weaker points this year jig fishing and getting the bass to stay on the hooks. Took a friends advice and now using 30# braid tied with a 20 floro leader it seems to be saving better hook sets for me. What i did accomplish is learning the chatterbait technique with different skirts and trailer.

Would be great fishing in some snow.

Fishing in the snow can be pretty fun in the spring or in the late late fall. One thing is for sure you wont be bothered by people water skiing or jet skiing

I have been pretty busy with hockey almost every morning for the past month.  And a new Granddaughter now 8 days old.

I managed to get out in the canoe this morning for 2 hours before work.

and last Wed night for 1/2 hour from shore.

Been challenged to a friendly fish off tomorrow will be the first time out in my boat on the month of November. Thinking jigging and rattlebaits will be my friends

This time of year a silver buddy can be very productive. At times it will far out produce a jig. Slow, slow, slow is the name of the game this time of year. Jerkbaits work as well.

Just a pickerel for me one bass for my partner the other boat got 3 total and yes they had the silver buddy I didn't have one but I will now. No sun that was promised thought it was going to snow the whole day out. I guess this is the final for me fogging the boat tomorrow for next year. Bummed got a new gopro hero 4 but all my videos today were done as time laps so I have a couple thousand photos instead of some video. guess I still need to learn more about the gopro.
