Any one finding any bass that are starting the fall feeding pattern? Southern Maine and Southern NH just not happening for me.

Is Maine in New England ?

Last weekend the fall bite was on. I will be back in Maine on vacation from Sept 26th - Oct 6th so I should have some good info soon.

Last weekend it sure did feel like fall. Water temperatures were 62-64 degrees.

I will be on Mendums around 1. Not many days left before they drawdown so I have to get out as much as I can.

What a tough day only one fish and that was with a chatterbait. they have already drawn down Swains almost a foot. I can see the fish on the finder but they are suspended and just not biting the lake was stained not the usual clear water. I think I need to head up north again.

Champlain is in the low to mid 60's and turning over. Been super windy for the last 4 days (72 hours of 18+mph winds with gusts to 40). Smallies are getting a bit shallower, but we're still getting them over 30 feet down.

Water is low too, under 95'. This makes getting into the Lamoille and Missisquoi rivers impossible. Smallies are running up those rivers in big numbers.

Cold water guys are trolling for Salmon in 70' & cracking 5lb smallies with their spoons. A guy won a pretty big tournament up here in July with smallies in 36-50'.

I need to make a trip with my boat up Champlain some day it's been on my bucket list.

I havent night fished in years.

it was dark and the pic did not come out too well.  it was either 20 1/2 or 21 1/2 Like most i did not take the time to weigh.  If she felt like a 6+ i would have weighed her.  she was not that fat but did fight well.  I really like the night fishing like this.   zero noise, except for the blub blub blub of the jitterbug, and the hit. almost no visibility so you have to know where you are fishing.   i try not to use a light except for taking the fish off the hook.    black noisy double colorado bladed spinners and ripping the buzz baits.    both i use a trailer hook and if i can i use a big treble trailer hook.

the jitterbug i usually go slow with but that night slow was getting nothing so i went faster, and then faster.

Bob, did you fish the Pleasant Lake tourney with us this year? I don't remember seeing you there but I came in 3rd and never caught a fish in less than 45-55 ft of water. I had a hard time keeping 1 of my fish alive, a 3.2 smallmouth that was caught on the side of the boat where the depth was 60ft so i ended up losing 2 ounces for the dead fish and missed 2nd place by .02 oz I love fishing the drop shot.

Nope that was one I had to miss, I just learned how to vent a fish to help with those problems. I'm just at beginner level for the drop shot rig It might be a patience issue with me. Might be at the Little Ossipee lunker tourney sunday will see how it goes. Next week (Thurs) heading up to Keezer to pre-fish the open coming up there on the 19th.

Got out fishing today. Was trying to locate some fish for when Shane comes to town the next two days. I found some nice fish and some NEW spots. The NEW spots were very very good and have been entered into my GPS. Lunker of the day was 5-7. Also caught 4-14, 4-13, 4-4, 3-4, 3-3, 3-2. 15 largemouth and 2 smallmouth for the day. Hopefully will be able to put shane on some fish the next 2 days.

Hitting Keezar thurs next week but looked at the calender its the same week of the fair so it should be interesting coming home through all that traffic. I have fished the lower basin now to fish the main part of the lake. I have heard that when the lake turns on for jigging be prepared for some brutes.
