justtrying Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 hey guys, i found a new use for my rod wrapping "skills" (& i use the word sparingly ) i'm getting a boat fixed for the flats at santee cooper. one of the things that i knew i would need was a push pole. ...but, when i priced those little darlings, i Knew there was something around here that would be cheaper. i had some curtain rods left over from re-modeling. two of them were about 12 foot long & almost 1" in diameter. soooo, i took some nylon carpenter's string & wrapped some hand holds & some places along the length to strengthen it & to give it better grip. i don't see why it won't work..& if it does, it'll save a couple hundred bucks.... don't have my camera in the shop this morning, but, will try to post a pic later. ronnie Oooooohhh the things this rod-wrapping leads to ! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee i love it! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Not a bad idea at all. I'd like to see a pic of that. Handle tape for a tennis racket works too. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 5, 2007 Super User Posted February 5, 2007 You don't mind if I borrow that idea from you? I love it. Quote
