Nyflyer Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Just used my new Lowrance Elite 5x HDI for the first time today. It worked great for about one hour then shut off. I tried restarting it several times but all it will do is run for about 3 minutes then shut off again. Is this a problem or am I doing something wrong? Quote

Their phone number is 804.776.9802. At least you will get some input from a factory authorized Lowrance repair guy to help you figure out the problem. Please let us know what he says and what you do to have the problem corrected. Quote

Super User Scott F Posted October 9, 2014 Super User Posted October 9, 2014 I had that happen with my Lowrance and it was a defective unit. I swapped it with my other Lowrance that had the same power plug and the problem moved with the unit. I had also taken voltage readings at the plug and found good power. Mine would shut off for hours then would work for a day then not work for 2 days. Because it was new, I took it back and exchanged it where I bought it. Quote
