Weld's Largemouth Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Hey all! Went fishing at my favorite pond yesterday and it was SLOW as heck. Caught one just under 3 lbs on a senko and that was it. Caught a few bluegills on spinners and some small baby bass but that was that. Its been 70 degrees during day, and low 50s at night... and it doesnt seem like the fall pattern has kicked in at all.... what's going on??? Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted September 21, 2014 Super User Posted September 21, 2014 Can't catch them all the time. Some days are good and others not so good. 1 Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted September 22, 2014 Super User Posted September 22, 2014 I went yesterday for 5-6 hours and got only a few Northerns. I've been catching pike to bass 5:1. 1 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted September 22, 2014 Super User Posted September 22, 2014 went yesterday and only caught one fish, pickerel at that. buddy of mine caught one 2 pounder. of the 6 other guys fishing this smaller lake, none of them said they had a strike to speak of. i did have one blow up on my frog, but the pads were so thick all the fish got was veggies.... 1 Quote

Super User deep Posted September 23, 2014 Super User Posted September 23, 2014 Move around. Summer is a stable period with fairly predictable fish locations. Both bass and bait are moving- probably horizontally I might add. Outside edges of weedbeds (on structure of course) have been good the last couple of times. Any remaining green weeds, fish those. Buy a thermometer with a longish probe you can measure water temps with (I have an acu-rite 00888 I think; ~$10 on Ebay). How deep was the thermocline during summer? Try that depth and shallower for a while. 1 Quote
