MassBass Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Went down yonder to the river to try my luck targeting carp and cats. Didn't get any because the water and flow was way down. But i did see a school of baitfish holding near shallow cover, along with some juvenile greenies. After my skunk going for bottom feeders i started thinking how the fall bass bite must be close if not hear already. The baitfish start schooling up and holding in cover and holes. Run a spinner near the bait and it can be a bonanza. Ill be going for bass next week, with tubes, spinners, and spinnerbaits on the menu. Anybody nailing smallies on fall patterns yet? Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 9, 2014 Global Moderator Posted October 9, 2014 Everything is up in the shallows chasing shad all over the place around here right now. Biggest smallies last weekend for me hit a rattle trap, 3 other keeper smallies weighed in, 2 on topwater, 1 on a swimming fluke type bait. So I guess it's safe to say it's on around here Quote
Rangerphil Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 It should be on about now here. We had that major cold front come thru last weekend so as the weather stabled out this week it should put them in the mood. Well find out this weekend! Quote
