Redfield Scopes

anyone use the redfield revolution scope? what r your thoughts? i need at least a decent scope for a backup rifle.

I've got a couple buddies that love their Redfield scopes.

They're decent scopes, especially for the money. Leupold owns Redfield, but they don't carry the Leupold guarantee. American made, that's a plus.

I can't comment on the Redfield, but if you're in that $200 range, check out the Nikon Pro Staff series. They're the clearest/brightest scope I've found in that price range.

There are a lot of options in that price range  and it's hard to find fault with Redfield.  I have just found that scopes are a personal thing and they all feel different on different rifles as the balance is always different.  You also should think about if you will be shooting while standing, prone, ect

Haven't looked at a new one in a long time but the old man has several that are over 30 years old and still very fine optics.

I like the Redfield brand. I've had one on the rifle my father gave to me and it finally failed. They aren't the original though now that Leopold owns them. When I worked for a sporting goods dealer I sold them and Nikon. So when I bought a replacement I got my pick. (Nikon prostaff). They seem like very good quality scopes from my experience and I never had one returned for problems.
