justtrying Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 hey guys, need your input. with all the rods i have, i still don't have the spinnerbait rod i want. i've got one 6'6" one that is pretty good, but, i just Want a 7' spinnerbait rod. (hey, any excuse will do when you want to build a rod. LOL) i've looked at the loomis sb blanks, but, they're all 6'6".. what about the 843glx? - fast, 10-17, 1/-3/4 ..or, the st croix 4c70mf? - fast, 10-17, 1/4-5/8 or, maybe you've got a good one in mind? ...what would YOU get? thanks ronnie Quote
Super User Alpster Posted February 13, 2007 Super User Posted February 13, 2007 Hey Ronnie, If you decide to go with the Loomis blank, I would go with IMX. The extra sensitivity on the GLX is lost on a spinnerbait only rig. Also leaves $ for fancy cork, guides, etc.. JMHO Ronnie Quote
WCCT Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I built a spinnerbait rod using the St. Croix SCIV "Sweeper spinnerbait" model. It is a 7' MH fast action blank. It is an awesome blank. I think it is the same model as you referred to. Quote
