First , do you believe the Veritas 2.0 casting rods appear to be on the stiffer side of their stated ratings ?

Secondly , with the exception of the Frog and Crank models - none of the other Veritas 2.0 casting rods mention suggested technique or application ...Anyone care to take a stab at  applications / technique for the models between 6'6" - 7'3" what they are intended for ? ...I surmize that the 7'6" and 7'11" models are for flipping / punching ...It's the other models that I'm curious about regarding technique for popular applications such as : top water , jerkbait , worm , jig , etc. Thanks in advance !

All I use is the Abu Gracie Veritas's and I love them. I use the 7' med fast for just about every thing a med would normally be used for, I use the 7' mh for jigs and a few other things, and i use the 7' heavy for my frogs. I don't like how long their frog rod is so that is why i use the 7' heavy.

Additionally , I see the 7'11" Heavy casting rod is rated up to 1.5oz. while the 7'9" Heavy casting rod is rated up to 3 oz. ...It appears the 7'9" model is for punching thick mat while the 7'11" is more for general flipping ?

With my few months of experience with them- the veritas line seems stiffer than their ratings in general.

I have found that the 7'm/f that Forrest referenced above is awesome for anything with a treble hook. It is quickly becoming my favorite rod.

If I remember correctly, the 7'9 was meant as an arig rod hence the higher rating. I have two of the v2 7ftmh and they are way less stiff than the previous generation. To put it in perspective, my old v1 mh was a frogging rod that I used in some heavy cover with no problems. This new verion is great for spinnerbaits and moving single hook baits because it has more flex

Grantman83 : A-Rig makes sense now ...Glad to hear the 2.0 is not as stiff as the previous versions ... Lastly - it would make things a bit more clear if Abu Garcia listed suggested techniques / applications for these new 2.0 rods .

I have 12 or 13 rods they are all veritas with one being a 2.0.  They all seemed a little stiff initially, but with time they seem to become more a bit softer and closer to their rating.  As for the suggested application abu doesn't seem to veer off too much from the norm. I think they were pretty much the same specs the st croix mojo line before stcroix updated the series.  I personally think the most useful is the 7 meds.
