Hey BR Anglers...I am looking for a area to launch my kayak in Lake Okeechobee. I live in South Florida so if there is a launch near the South side of the Lake (Palm Beach County) that would be great. Any locations for a safe park or launch. Not to worry...I will not ask for any of your "Hot Spots"...I never fished Lake O and would love to fish it.

Theres a ramp in South Bay right off the rim ditch that puts you west of Boy Scouts Cut, Its right off 27 as you're leaving South bay on your right. Then theres the Bell Glade public ramp, these would be your best bet coming from South Florida. Both would put you pretty close to some decent fishing.

My hot spots are about 40 miles away so I wont tell you about them.

I would go to Fisheating Creek on the west side of the lake. I would go west from the ramp and you will not be bothered by boats going by all the time. Its a very sandy bottom the fish seem to love. Lots of shore vegetation. A nice area to fish, there are some good size gators.
