Anybody use braid on their MH/ MF action crankbait rods?

Posted

Only on spinning and I use a glass rod. I have been known to throw traps with braid on casting gear cause it rips grass way easier.

In a word, YES.  Now ask me when and why.

Yes I switched to braid this year for my shallow and lipless crank setup and will never go back. So much more sensitive with braid not scared to rip it out of grass/weed. With braid I just feel more in control or know what's going on. My rod should pin the bass on the hook.....or I hope lol. I haven't notice any less hook up/landing ratio with braids but to be honest I crank only 20% of my fishing time.

I love cranking with braid because it is on another level of sensitivity, you can feel everything! it is awesome when you can feel the slightest bit of grass on your lure, not to mention the thin diameter of braid while still having great strength.

I like braid when I'm around heavy grass using a squarebill or lipless crank.

Even on a S Glass rod?

I tried braid, then tried going back.

I can't. Braid just has too many advantages and leaders are easy to tie, when needed.

Gonna have to get used to casting the braid on this rod its got a nice moderate fast tip, so it can really fling these cranks.
