Super User bigbill Posted September 17, 2014 Super User Posted September 17, 2014 This is my problem too I'm throwing a senko and a bps stick o in a amber gold flake. It's hotter than Haiti here. The bass kill it. Now I can't find either one anywhere. Quote

Trek Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 This is my problem too I'm throwing a senko and a bps stick o in a amber gold flake. It's hotter than Haiti here. The bass kill it. Now I can't find either one anywhere. Go to Do-it molds. They sell the GY senko mold. It is the exact senko you buy in the store. Put one of your senko's on their forum and the guys will tell you how to make it. If you use a lot of plastics in a year this will in the long run save you a ton of money and you'll never worry about running out. I make senko's for pennies. I even save my old ones and remelt them into new ones. And it keeps me busy in the winter. Quote

Primus Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I've got a little different take, I have not seen an imitator that is equal to the Senko, they also make a very impressive selection of colors. Isn't there a color that is currently available that would be very close ? Chances are that it will perform very well on that body of water, also it could be he was doing something different presentation wise . Last but not least he had success because he found the fish . All that being said I've been there regarding having to hunt down a certain color or bait. One possibility is that certain tackle shops have exclusives on certain color runs for example Monster Tackle... http://www.*.com/Yamamoto-Senko-Monster-Shad-p/yamamoto-monster-shad-senko.htm Quote
Super User bigbill Posted September 17, 2014 Super User Posted September 17, 2014 Another thing that ruffles my chips is when a hot lure is discontinued. The BPS / XPS TOPNOCKER and the BOMBER FAT A. The topnocker is the hottest topwater lure I have ever used. The bomber fat A is the hottest crankbait I have ever used. Now I fill a big box up when I find a bait that works better than the rest. I have a box of bomber cranks, a box of Norman thin n, a box of bps stick o, a few senkos, gambler ace, gambler worms, culprit worms, brushogs ect. My backup supply could over fill a mom & pop bait shop. Every time I learn a new bait or a new color that works I buy plenty of it. I show my son's and there spouses how to use them too. I keep them supplied too. I enjoy passing on what I find that catches fish. I enjoy seeing others catch fish too. Quote
Coherence Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I notice we still haven't seen or recieved description of this mystery killer color haha Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 17, 2014 Author Super User Posted September 17, 2014 Brenda at Gary Yamamoto's office sent me an email and said: "Our Plant Manager has figured out what color it is 975 Green Flash this is a new color and isn’t available until December." Don't know how the guy on the Chick had some but he did. Will have to wait until December to see how they look. In the meantime I am hooking up with one of our Forum members next week to have some made. I know the Zoom distributor and have gotten a number of colors before they were released to the public so I guess the guy who helped me on the Chick has his sources, too. Thanks again for the replies. Some were good and others funny. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 17, 2014 Author Super User Posted September 17, 2014 I notice we still haven't seen or recieved description of this mystery killer color haha I don't know how to post pics on the Forum. The Senko is a light army green and the bottom is a light pearl with green and silver sparkles sprinklered throughout the worm. I will try to post pics but no guarantees. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 17, 2014 Super User Posted September 17, 2014 Sounds like a souped up baby bass pattern. I've seen similar baits from many companies, though not with the sparkles. I'd throw it! Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted September 17, 2014 Super User Posted September 17, 2014 Nice detective work! Good luck with them. For me, two-tone Senko equates to near zero confidence.....little experience...most bad Quote
EmersonFish Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 '975 Green Flash' was my second guess. 1 Quote
Coherence Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The Senko is a light army green and the bottom is a light pearl with green and silver sparkles sprinklered throughout the worm. Sounds like a pretty decent pattern honestly, I am surprised that no one can identify it. The hunt must continue! Quote

primetime Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I would bet money that you could find that color on bitters bait and tackle website.....Bitter's is legendary here in the Florida market especially around the Kissimmee chain of lakes as they make alot of colors & styles of baits for those lakes and water colors... They have endless amounts of colors, but as many mentioned, I doubt it was the "Color" that worked so well otherwise GYB would not have disco'd it and everyone would be buying bags on top of bags if it was magic.... However, confidence is key so if you think that color is magic, have a company pour some for you and you can have them take the extra plastisol and make some creatures and grubs in that color as well....What color was water where he was fishing?Shallow or deep? weightless? wacky or punched with 2 oz weight...so many variables, maybe he was using 4lb test and catching numbers, I doubt any color is going to outfish the green pumpkins, watermelons, smokes, blacks, and laminates in forrage patterns. primetime Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 . Sounds like a pretty decent pattern honestly, I am surprised that no one can identify it. The hunt must continue! I actually have these worms in that exact pattern....light watermelon top with pearl bottom, light pink and green flake on pearl side, some have it thoughout the worm...it was purchased as a blemished color that didn't meet spec for the brand it is sold under...I can't download pics but it does work pretty good at times..The GYB watermelon green light colored laminate with pearl is a very popular color as well, these were errors but they do work well but are not magic. Super User buzzed bait Posted September 17, 2014 Super User Posted September 17, 2014 sam put as much effort into figuring out how to load pics as you did tracking down this magical mystery one hitter quitter senko and this thread will be going somewhere.... i'd still like to see this unit! Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted September 18, 2014 Super User Posted September 18, 2014 There was someone back in late spring swearing by that green flash... I mean he was livid over it.. He too, was searching hi & low.. I remember seeing those kits in spring, but my DSG never restocked them.... Quote
Super User WRB Posted September 18, 2014 Super User Posted September 18, 2014 Yamamoto makes "Pro"series colors a year or so before they are available for general use. If you know a pro sponsored by Yamamoto, contact them. My source is Don Iovino products, I am sure he can help you. Tom Quote
speed craw Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Stupid question could you buy the d-shad in that color and melt them repour into a senko mold ? Considering doing this for a zoom specialty color . Quote
