OK, so I broke down. There was a reason my cranking and both trolling batteries died while on the Chickahominy River and I was helplessly floating up river with the tide.

A guy in a Triton comes by and gives me a jump start. And while we are getting set up for the jump start we talk about fishing the Chick.

He told me he caught more than 30 bass that day so I asked him what he was throwing.

He reaches down into his boat and throws a Senko to me and says use this one, it is a killer on the Chick.

We get my boat started and dumb me, I forgot to get his name or phone number so I could send him a thank you note or call him and thank him once again for helping me.

I go on the Internet to locate the special Senko and it is not on Gary's web page.  It is not at Tackle Warehouse. It is not on eBay.  It is no where to be found.

I go to both Green Top and BPS and it is no where to be found.

Will, who orders the plastics for Green Top looked in his distributor's catalog and he can't find it.

The BPS guys are at a loss, too.

So I send an email to Gary's place and Brenda, the lady who handles the orders, and I start an email conversation. Seems the color is available but only in the D-Shad. And Brenda can't ever remember the color being available for a number of years, if at all.

I don't want to pay for a special run of this color Senko so I will continue to try to locate it on the Internet and try to find some Japanese tackle outlets to find out if the color is available in Japan.

So what do I do with the one and only Senko in that color?  Not fish with it.  Probably will frame the sucker and keep looking.

And they say bass fishing can't drive you crazy.  Are they wrong, or what?

Who said that???  Of course they're wrong.

What about dyes or playing with some home-made color mod ideas?

It´s easy, you contact a custom lure builder and ask him to pour that color for you,  take a look at Tackleunderground and there are guys there that pour real beauties.

I highly doubt the reason he caught 30 bass that day was because he had some "magic " color. But if it makes you feel better, go with it. You seem like you have been bass fishing a long enough time to know better.

What is this special color and why is it so secret that you can't describe it?   I would point out that it hasn't caught a fish for you yet.

I was thinking the same thing.  Next time out, it will be another magic bait in a magic color.

I have to see it.  I'm not fishing with a poop brown/pink sparkle senko, no matter what someone's catching on it :P

I'm not even (too) ashamed to admit that if the guys in the next boat were pulling them in and told me they were rubbing their senkos in their butt cracks, I'd probably pull into the next cove and....wait.....nevermind......lol

I want it! Can you post a picture of it? Maybe WE all go in and have them made might make price lower.

Thanks, guys. Loved all the replies.

And yes, no guarantee it will work anytime at anyplace but we all love the "hunt" to try to find the bass and I want to "hunt" this bait.

Will be going about an hour away to have one of the guys see it and determine if he can match it.

This is a challenge now. Me vs. the Bait.

Bearpaw will make anything for you, as well.

I make all my plastics. And there are thousands of other guys that do too. In fact I make every lure I fish with except crank baits. It's very easy to do and color combos are endless. Like others have said color is over rated. The one thing he could have done is made it so it sinks faster or slower and that could make a difference.

Paul Crew custom baits. He can match anything!

That guy is a bait making stud. Check his stuff out. He's good. I believe he spells his last name Krew

I'm guessing it's not green pumpkin? Am I right?

There is a bait shop in St.Charles county near St.Louis that has a special "Lake of the Ozarks" color Senko that is reputed to only be sold there. Maybe this is one of those? I have been there with a friend twice, and he has the biggest selection of GY baits I have ever seen. PM me if you want me to get you a number.

Take a look at BearBaits, they make CNC molds for nearly every soft plastic.

Break down and send the Senko to Gary and get a 100 made!
