has anyone had any luck in the quarry lake up on 97th ave north of okeechobee? I scouted it out today but didn't see any peas. Anyone have success here? Pretty sure it's the one from that video posted on one of these threads :fish1:

How are you getting in there? Isn't that all owned by Rinker? If so, its private property and security will not have a problem running you out. People that I knew years ago fished out of one those quarries. They filled up on nice pea's I saw the pics, but they have thicker skin than I do, cuz it was all on private land.

dial in your googleEarth to nw 97th ave and nw 138th st and start creeping north on 97th (can't get you an exact street number). I just drove all the way to the end where it dead ends and saw an area where it looked like people put boats in. I'm not sure if it's private bc the part I saw was right on 97th, hopped across a shallow ditch to see it. No peas in immediate view just some dink mayans.

Yeah, I know where you are talking about. Rinker is much farther West. I scouted that area last year. I could have sworn the big lakes were fenced off. The only thing that I saw was a canal that runs East West toward I-75. Besides that whole area within 3 yrs is going to be developed land. Good luck if you get out there.

Lol, thought no one noticed my presence! Or lack of.

I still go through the forums daily just don't post much. Between work and my daughter, I haven't had many opportunities to get out lately. I did manage a couple 1-2 lb peas on my UL when we were visiting family in Miramar the other week.

Nice pea, I am also on the same band wagon as you. I am at the stage now where my kids have occupied alot of time with school and activities. I can't fish like I used to. My time will come. Til next time Sqhertz.
