bassmatt Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 i know a lake (Fitzpatrick) near here that is chock full of black crappie and supposedly big bass. i have a storm crappie lure. will it work? Quote
bighed Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I don't know about your bait but I've seen a big bass eat a 9 1/2" crappie. Should work. Quote
Pa Angler Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Check your States Fishing laws some states consider Panfish as gamefish and can't be used for bait. Quote

Super User flechero Posted April 17, 2007 Super User Posted April 17, 2007 i'm using a lure, so would it matter? no, you are fine. crappie lures can be deadly in some lake with lots of them... I have the Mattlures crappie and love it. Quote
Gorgebassman Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I have had great luck on crappie color pattern lures in waters that have a abundance of crappie. Quote
wickyman Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 We also have black crappie on our lake, and as far as I know, there are no regulations about, "panfish" being prohibited as bait... Then again, we are pulling 2-3lb crappie out quite frequently... I think maybe I have had one that a bass could inhale, but that is pretty rare... Quote
