Been a bad summer for fishing in central Virginia. Went to a lake known to be stingy but has some big bass.

Started with a four pounder on a Rage rigged 702 craw I injected.

No other bites till a 24" 6-10 bit my home made 5" stick bait.

Fish jumped and thought I had a ten pounder. Head and mouth were huge. She never jumped again and did not put up much of a fight. She was long and skinny. Must be old or sick. Looks like I am eating well though

Took some pics and forgot camera was on macro mode  :cry4:

Wow! Where do you live in central Va. I live down here close to Staunton and there are big bass in the farm ponds around here!

Ugh... Awesome fish but skinny most often means a belly full of plastics. She probably won't live too much longer unfortunately.

Ruritan in Central VA.

This small lake is highly managed by the county. Lots of nutrients asre added and water is peas soup green. Most fish are footballs. Lots of pressure but many just panfish.

Here is a 19" 4# I got a different outing.
