cjam93 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hey guys I wasnt sure if this was the right spot for this or not, if it isnt then I apologize. I was just wondering where you get cardboard tubes for shipping rods in? thanks! Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted September 12, 2014 Super User Posted September 12, 2014 Home Depot, menards, lowes just go adk the floor coverings dept and they will mostblikely give you one for free Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I've settled on PVC pipe. I guess it depends some on the value of whatever you're shipping. Sure there's insurance but who want's to jump through those hoops if you don't have to. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted September 12, 2014 Super User Posted September 12, 2014 I keep some of the ones my rods came in. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I don't know exactly off the top of my head but a postage calculator can tell you. The expensive part is the over size surcharge (7'>). 7' of 3" PVC I wanna say weighs 5# maybe less. Vacuum pipe is lighter and plenty durable if you can find it. Quote

BobP Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I've sent/received rods in several kinds of tubes. I think the best were HVAC tubing. Thin enough to be lighter than PVC or cardboard, strong enough to stand shipping abuse. Quote
